Stop motion workshop with Abel Carbajal

ESCAC alumni Abel Carbajal returned to our school to lead a stop motion workshop for students in the fourth year of the degree programme in Animation and VFX.

Abel graduated from ESCAC with the EDP El gran Corelli, which, in addition to being shown at numerous festivals and winning various awards, reached the semi-finals of the 47th annual Student Academy Awards of the Hollywood Film Academy in the animation category.

Made using the stop motion technique, production of this End-of-Degree Project took two years and was filmed over nine months. The short acted as a great introduction to Abel and his work, securing him a position at the prestigious animation studio Laika, known for films such as Coraline, The Boxtrolls and Kubo and the Two Strings.
