{"id":41045,"date":"2020-01-20T11:41:20","date_gmt":"2020-01-20T11:41:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/escac.com\/?p=41045"},"modified":"2022-10-28T06:56:56","modified_gmt":"2022-10-28T06:56:56","slug":"7-gaudi-awards-for-escac-talent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/escac.com\/en\/noticias\/7-gaudi-awards-for-escac-talent\/","title":{"rendered":"7 Gaud\u00ed Awards for ESCAC talent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Six graduates won an award yesterday at the XII edition of the<strong> Gaud\u00ed Awards<\/strong> given by the <strong>Acad\u00e8mia del Cinema Catal\u00e0<\/strong>: <strong>Best Screenplay (Bel\u00e9n Funes and Mar\u00e7al Cebri\u00e1n), Best Direction (Bel\u00e9n Funes), Best Non-Catalan Language Film (Bel\u00e9n Funes), Best Editing (Ana Pfaff), Best Art Direction (Sylvia Steinbrecht), Best Production Direction (Oriol Maym\u00f3) and the Audience Award (Aritz Cirbian) went to the ESCAC Talent.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>La hija de un ladron<\/strong><\/em>, the opera prima by graduate <strong>Bel\u00e9n Funes<\/strong>, was one of the night&#8217;s winners with three awards: <strong>screenplay, direction and film<\/strong>. Funes made her awards debut by winning all three for which she was nominated. The film is co-written with <strong>Mar\u00e7al Cebri\u00e1n<\/strong>, who also won the award, and features <strong>Neus Oll\u00e9<\/strong> as DoP and <strong>Enrique G. Bermejo<\/strong> and <strong>Sergio Rueda<\/strong> in sound, also graduates.<br \/>\nThis is the first time in the twelve-year history of the Gaud\u00ed Awards that graduates have won the award for <strong>Best Screenplay<\/strong>. As for direction, Bel\u00e9n is the third graduate to win it, after <strong>Mar Coll<\/strong> for<em><strong> Tres dies amb la familia<\/strong><\/em> (2010) and <strong>J.A. Bayona<\/strong> for <em><strong>Lo imposible<\/strong><\/em> (2013) and <strong><em>Un monstruo viene a verme<\/em><\/strong> (2017).<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Els dies que vindran<\/strong><\/em>, the other winner of the night with also three awards (film, actress and editing) earned the graduate <strong>Ana Pfaff<\/strong> her second Gaud\u00ed for <strong>Best Editing<\/strong> after winning it a couple of years ago for <em><strong>Estiu 1993<\/strong><\/em> (2018). Ana Pfaff took the stage again to collect the award for <strong>Best Short Film<\/strong> to <em><strong>Suc de S\u00edndria<\/strong><\/em>, of which she is also the editor.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sylvia Steinbrecht<\/strong> was the second graduate of the evening to take the stage, picking up the award for <strong>Best Artistic Direction<\/strong> for <em><strong>Elisa y Marcela<\/strong><\/em>. This is the second time that a graduate has won this award, after <strong>Laia Colet<\/strong> won it for <em><strong>Eva<\/strong><\/em> in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Graduate <strong>Oriol Maym\u00f3<\/strong> won the award for <strong>Best Production Direction<\/strong> for <em><strong>Qui\u00e9n a hierro mata<\/strong><\/em>, becoming the first graduate to win in this category.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, the film <em><strong>7 raons per fugir<\/strong><\/em>, produced by <strong>Aritz Cirbian<\/strong>, <strong>Xavi Toll<\/strong> as delegated producer, <strong>Ana\u00efs Urraca<\/strong> in editing and <strong>Laia Casanovas<\/strong> in sound, won the <strong>Audience Award<\/strong>.
