Once again this year, Escac Films<\/strong> productions will be present at the Festival de M\u00e1laga de Cine Espa\u00f1ol<\/strong>, which this year celebrates its 22nd edition from 15 to 24 March. Two short films in the Official Selection<\/strong> (Sin Pausa<\/a><\/strong><\/em> by Jos\u00e9 Cach\u00f3n, and Benidorm 2017<\/a><\/strong><\/em> by Claudia Costafreda), Nacho no conduce<\/strong><\/a> by Alejandro Mar\u00edn in the Corto M\u00e1laga<\/strong> section, and the collective feature film La filla d’alg\u00fa<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, in ZonaZine<\/strong>. In addition, What is love<\/em><\/strong>, a short film by Master in Directing alumni Paco Caballero<\/strong>, will also be screened in the Official Selection.<\/p>\n

The film, made by students in the fourth year of the Official Degree<\/strong> at ESCAC and starring the actress Aina Clotet<\/strong>, is a film that was born and takes shape thanks to the energy, creativity and enthusiasm of the students of the different specialities of the degree; directors, scriptwriters, producers, photo and art directors, editors, sound engineers, all of them have thrown themselves into this exciting project.<\/p>\n

The feature film was an opportunity to bring together in the same direction the imaginations of a group of students from the school, something that involves great artistic and creative risk.<\/p>\n

The young authors have opted to create a unitary and compact project. Each director (Marcel Alc\u00e1ntara, J\u00falia De Paz Solvas, Sara Fantova, Guillem Gallego, Celia Giraldo, Alejandro Mar\u00edn, Valentin Moulias, Gerard Vidal, Pol Vidal, Enric Vilageliu <\/strong>and Carlos Villafaina<\/strong>) has shot a series of sequences of the film, with a single plot and always following the main character. In this way, they have ensured that the film tells a story that is not capitulated, with a uniform and cohesive tone throughout, giving the film a visual and narrative unity.<\/p>\n

The rest of the departments (screenplay, cinematography, art, sound, production) have also worked together.<\/p>\n

Synopsis<\/strong><\/p>\n

Eli, 30 years old, lawyer, pregnant, upper class. On the very day she is about to attend the oral hearing of a media trial that she has been preparing for some time with her father, a well-known lawyer in Barcelona, he disappears. Her search will lead Eli to discover a reality that will turn her family and emotional stability upside down.<\/em><\/p>\n

The ESCAC’s collective feature film<\/strong>
\nOne of the activities carried out by the 4th year students at ESCAC is the collective feature film; a practice in which students from all specialities take part.<\/p>\n

This initiative has given rise to titles such as Puzzlez Love<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, a romantic comedy that, after its screening at the San Sebastian International Film Festival<\/strong> (Zabaltegi section), was broadcast on Televisi\u00f3 de Catalunya and Canal +, and Los inocentes<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, a slasher that premiered at the Sitges Festival<\/strong>, before being shown at international festivals, also on Televisi\u00f3 de Catalunya.<\/p>\n

Escac Films short films at the Malaga Film Festival<\/strong><\/p>\n

In addition to the feature film La filla d’alg\u00fa<\/strong><\/em>, Escac Films<\/strong> will be presenting three short films at the Malaga Film Festival: Sin Pausa<\/strong><\/a><\/em> by Jos\u00e9 Cach\u00f3n, and Benidorm 2017<\/strong><\/em> by Claudia Costafreda, which will be screened in the Official Section, while Nacho no conduce<\/strong><\/em><\/a> by Alejandro Mar\u00edn will be participating in the Corto M\u00e1laga section.<\/p>\n

Escac Talent at the Malaga Film Festival<\/strong><\/p>\n

The short films What is love<\/strong><\/em> by Paco Caballero<\/strong> and Grbavica<\/strong> <\/em>by Manel Raga<\/strong>, both students of the Master’s Degree in Directing<\/strong>, can also be seen in the Official Section<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In ZonaZine<\/strong>, competing are Ojos Negros<\/em><\/strong>, with graduates Andr\u00e9s Mellinas<\/strong> as executive producer and Anna Moragriega<\/strong> as production manager, V\u00edctor Xavier Monz\u00f3<\/strong> as editor and Eloy Rodr\u00edguez de la Rosa<\/strong> and Roger Navarro<\/strong> as sound designers; and the debut film of the Master’s Degree alumni Jon Mikel Caballero<\/strong>, El incre\u00edble finde menguante<\/strong><\/em>. Graduate T\u00e0nia Fonseca<\/strong> is responsible for the cinematography of the film.<\/p>\n

In the Official Section<\/strong>, Litus<\/strong><\/em>, the feature film directed by graduate Dani de la Orden<\/strong> and with his usual editor, also a graduate, Alberto Guti\u00e9rrez<\/strong>, is competing. The film is an adaptation of the play written by Marta Buchaca<\/strong>, a teacher at the school.<\/p>\n
