Thirteen ESCAC graduates and alumni<\/strong> will present their feature films, short films, documentaries and series at the 21st edition of the Malaga Festival<\/strong>: Juan Antonio Bayona, Mar Coll, Dani de la Orden, Sofie Escud\u00e9, B\u00e1rbara Farr\u00e9, Bel\u00e9n Funes, Liliana Torres, Josecho de Linares, Bernat Manzano, Elena Trap\u00e9, Marta D\u00edaz de Lope D\u00edaz, Andrea Jaurrieta and Diana Toucedo.<\/p>\n

In the official feature film section<\/strong>, up to four directors come from ESCAC: graduate Elena Trap\u00e9<\/strong> with Las distancias; Master’s in Directing alumni Andrea Jaurrieta<\/strong> with Ana de d\u00eda<\/em><\/strong>; graduate Marta D\u00edaz de Lope D\u00edaz<\/strong> with Mi querida cofrad\u00eda<\/strong><\/em> (a film produced by Escac Films as part of the ESCAC Opera Prima Programme); and graduate Dani de la orden<\/strong> with El mejor verano de mi vida<\/em><\/strong> – which will close the Malaga event. In an edition marked by the strong presence of women, it should be noted that all the directors of Spanish films in the official section come from the school.<\/p>\n

The official short film section<\/strong> includes La in\u00fatil<\/em><\/strong> by Bel\u00e9n Funes<\/strong> and the Escac Films short film La \u00faltima virgen<\/em><\/strong> by B\u00e1rbara Farr\u00e9<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In the official documentary section<\/strong>, Hayati<\/strong><\/em>, co-directed by Liliana Torres<\/strong> and Sofi Escud\u00e9<\/strong>, and produced by Bernat Manzano<\/strong>, also a graduate, will be presented.<\/p>\n

Desparecer<\/strong><\/em> by Josecho de Linares<\/strong>, the other Escac Films film produced as part of the ESCAC Opera Prima Programme, will participate in the Zonazine section<\/strong>. In the previous edition of the festival, another of the films that came out of this programme, Blue Rai by Pedro B. Abreu, won the Audience Award. Diana Toucedo<\/strong>‘s Trinta Lumes<\/em><\/strong> will also be in Zonazine.<\/p>\n

In the M\u00e1laga premiere<\/strong> section, Juan Antonio Bayona<\/strong> will act as producer to present the documentary I Hate New York<\/strong> <\/em>and Mar Coll<\/strong> will present the series Matar al padre<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Thus, a total of 11 productions<\/strong> directed or produced by ESCAC graduates and alumni are travelling to Malaga this year: four feature films, two short films and a documentary in the official section, two feature films in Zonazine and a series and a documentary in M\u00e0laga premiere.<\/p>\n

Finally, the ESCAC’s presence at the Malaga Festival is also reflected in the participation of two students in the Malaga Talent<\/strong> section.<\/p>\n
