{"id":42142,"date":"2018-03-19T10:14:27","date_gmt":"2018-03-19T10:14:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/escac.com\/?p=42142"},"modified":"2022-11-04T10:41:14","modified_gmt":"2022-11-04T10:41:14","slug":"el-escarabajo-al-final-de-la-calle-best-short-film-at-ficg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/escac.com\/en\/noticias\/el-escarabajo-al-final-de-la-calle-best-short-film-at-ficg\/","title":{"rendered":"EL ESCARABAJO AL FINAL DE LA CALLE, best short film at FICG"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The short film <em><strong>El escarabajo al final de la calle<\/strong><\/em>, produced by Escac Films and directed by <strong>Joan Vives<\/strong>, with a technical team made up of ESCAC graduates, won the award for <strong>Best Ibero-American Short Film<\/strong> at the 33rd <strong>Guadalajara International Film Festival<\/strong> this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The short film was also selected in official competition at the <strong>Clermont Ferrand Festival<\/strong> last January and has a long journey of festivals ahead of it. With this award obtained at the FICG, the short film is eligible to be entered for the Oscars.<\/p>\n<p>In the Best Ibero-American Documentary category, where another Escac Films production was competing, the documentary <em><strong>Desde que bailas<\/strong><\/em>, by Beatriz Osorno and \u00c1lvaro Torrelli, the winner was the Argentinian film<em> El espanto<\/em>. In this edition of the festival, with Catalonia as guest of honour, films made here have been the protagonist of sections, retrospectives and professional conferences. In addition, fourth-year student Adri\u00e0 Guxens attended the festival as a <strong>Mezcal Jury<\/strong> member representing the school.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Synopsis<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Amadeo is a good person. He lives in a quiet village in Valencia, and since his wife died, he devotes himself body and soul to taking care of his invalid father-in-law, Mr. Agust\u00edn. Because of this, he goes quite unnoticed among the people. One fine day Lol\u00edn, the fishmonger&#8217;s daughter, has a premonition when she decapitates an eel: Amadeo has seven days left to live. This will trigger a series of events that will change his life completely.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"El Escarabajo al Final de la Calle.
