Three films directed by graduates obtain 5 nominations for the Goya Awards.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A total of 7 productions with ESCAC talent have obtained 17 nominations.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The nominations for the 34th edition of the Goya Awards given by the Spanish Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have been announced. The winners will be announced at the gala to be held in Malaga on 25 January.<\/p>\n

La hija de un ladr\u00f3n<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Belen Funes<\/strong> has been nominated for Best New Director<\/strong> for La Hija de un Ladr\u00f3n<\/em><\/strong>. The film is co-written by Mar\u00e7al Cebri\u00e1n<\/strong>, with Neus Oll\u00e9<\/strong> as DoP, Enrique G. Bermejo<\/strong> as sound designer and other graduates in all departments. Belen Funes had already worked with these same colleagues in her two previous shorts: Sara a la fuga <\/strong><\/em>and La in\u00fatil<\/strong><\/em> (produced by ESCAC).<\/p>\n

La hija de un ladr\u00f3n<\/strong><\/em> has also won the nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role<\/strong> for Greta Fern\u00e1ndez<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In previous years, three graduates of the school have won the Goya Award for Best New Director<\/strong>: J.A. Bayona in 2007, Mar Coll in 2009 and Kike Ma\u00edllo in 2011<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

La inocencia\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Opera Prima by graduate Luc\u00eda Alemany<\/strong>, co-written with Laia Soler<\/strong> and Joan Bordera<\/strong> as DoP, has obtained two nominations; Best Original Song<\/strong> and Best New Actress<\/strong> for Carmen Arrufat<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Perdiendo el este<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Directed by Master in Directing <\/strong>alumni Paco Caballero<\/strong>, it has a nomination for Best Special Effects. The film features graduates Oriol Capel<\/strong> as screenwriter<\/strong> and David Valldep\u00e9rez<\/strong> as director of photography<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In addition, there are 4 other films with ESCAC talent nominated in this edition:<\/p>\n

Intemperie<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The film, directed by Benito Zambrano and with cinematography by graduate Pau Esteve Birba<\/strong>, has received five nominations, including Best Film.<\/p>\n

Quien a hierro mata<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Directed by Paco Plaza, it has 3 nominations (Leading Actor, Breakthrough Actor and Sound). The film is directed by graduates David Gallart<\/strong> in editing<\/strong> and Oriol Maym\u00f3<\/strong> in production<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Adi\u00f3s<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Directed by Paco Cabezas, it has 3 nominations (double in Supporting Actress and Breakthrough Actress). The film features graduates Pau Esteve Birba<\/strong> as DoP<\/strong> and Luis de la Madrid<\/strong> in Editing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Paradise Hills<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Directed by Alice Waddington has a nomination for Best Costume Design. The film features graduate Alex Villagrasa<\/strong> on Effects<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
