Bayona<\/strong> to its Tribe, appointing him as the global ambassador for CUPRA to drive creativity and innovation made in Barcelona, <strong>in collaboration with ESCAC<\/strong>. The new ambassador was announced today at an event held at CASA SEAT. With this partnership, CUPRA strengthens its ties to the film industry, following its role as the official automotive partner of the Sitges Film Festival.<\/p>\n<p><strong>J.A. Bayona<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Born and trained in Barcelona at ESCAC, J.A. Bayona is <strong>one of the youngest filmmakers to achieve international success.<\/strong> He made his directorial debut with The Orphanage (2007), premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, and received seven Goya Awards, including Best New Director. With The Impossible (2012), he earned five Goya Awards and garnered an Oscar nomination for lead actress Naomi Watts. Subsequent films include A Monster Calls (2016), Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018), Penny Dreadful (2014-2016), and The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022). His latest film, The Society of Snow (2023), is Spain&#8217;s candidate for the upcoming Oscars.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI share an exciting and innovative worldview with Cupra, and like them, a passion for everything we do. That&#8217;s why we will <strong>collaborate on various cultural projects<\/strong> with other entities to <strong>promote young creative talent<\/strong>, from Barcelona to the rest of the world,\u201d commented J.A. Bayona.<\/p>\n<p>During the event, two competitions were announced with the aim of discovering and promoting the creative talent of the new generation in the field of cinema.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>first competition<\/strong> is for short films, targeting young talents aged 17 to 23. The winner will receive a full scholarship to develop their cinematic talent at ESCAC.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>second competition<\/strong> is aimed at individuals aged 21 to 30 who are alumni of ESCAC.
