We announce the projects selected for our \u00d3pera Prima laboratory<\/strong>, a platform for new talents in Catalan and Spanish cinematography. This year we celebrate the 3rd edition, with a registration process that has achieved a record of 210 applications<\/strong>, of which 10 outstanding projects<\/strong> have been selected.<\/p>\n ESCAC’s Opera Prima Lab<\/strong> is a pioneering and open program for new authors and producers, aimed at developing their first feature films, series or audiovisual products in new formats, whether documentary or fiction, with the intention of being commercially launched. This program, backed by 15 years of history, is financed by ICEC and supported by SGAE<\/strong>, which consolidates it as one of the main drivers of research and innovation in audiovisual production in Spain.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00d3pera Prima aims to find and promote emerging talent in the audiovisual industry<\/strong>, providing participants with an intensive 6-month follow-up. Through training workshops, professional mentoring, specialized seminars and presentations to the industry, those selected develop a solid proposal and are introduced to the global film market. Key moments of the program include June 27th and 28th at the SGAE headquarters. This will be the first meeting that will kick off the program, where mentors and participants will be introduced, and tutors will be assigned to each of the selected projects. Likewise, from October 4 to 8 at the Sitges Film Festival, the projects will begin to work and look at financing options. In addition, in December, at ESCAC’s facilities, the project will be presented with a special focus on its distribution.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Among the previous successes<\/strong> of the Opera Prima program are acclaimed films such as “Lo mejor de m\u00ed<\/strong>” by Roser Aguilar, “Tres dies amb la fam\u00edlia<\/strong>” by Mar Coll, “Eva<\/strong>” by Kike Ma\u00edllo, “Te estoy amando locamente<\/strong>” by Alejandro Mar\u00edn, or “Un lugar com\u00fan<\/strong>” by Celia Girlado, among others, which have collected more than 60 awards and 100 nominations in renowned festivals, including the Goya, Feroz and Gaud\u00ed awards, as well as participations in international festivals such as San Sebasti\u00e1n, Locarno, Rotterdam and many more.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Our commitment to the promotion and support of new talent<\/strong> is reflected in this new edition of the \u00d3pera Prima laboratory, which marks its third edition.
