ESCAC is expanding its scholarship programme, which currently benefits 100 students with limited resources per year, with two new scholarships for the Master’s in Screenwriting funded by Netflix Fund for Creative Equity.

The creation of the screenwriting scholarship aims to contribute to making the audiovisual industry a more inclusive and diverse sector, through the search for new perspectives and narrative proposals from social groups that are underrepresented in the audiovisual sector. The aim is to promote creative equity and encourage the presence of people with cultural diversity, sexual and gender diversity, and/or disabilities behind the camera, which is why only people who identify with any of these underrepresented identities will be eligible for these grants.

The ESCAC-Netflix scholarship offers the opportunity to study the Master’s Degree in Screenwriting offered by one of the most prestigious film schools in the country. Two grants have been created to cover the cost of enrolment and registration fees, as well as financial aid to cover accommodation and living expenses during the months of the study programme, the purchase of computer and technological material, and the initial and final transfer costs to Terrassa (ESCAC headquarters) from the home of origin.

The terms and conditions of the call for applications and the most frequently asked questions can be consulted on the Scholarships page or on the Master’s in Screenwriting page.

Those interested can send their application for one of the two scholarships for the 2022-23 academic year through this link until 17 June. After passing the first stages of the selection process, applicants will have a final interview with the scholarship committee made up of representatives from Netflix and ESCAC. The committee will then select the two winners of the screenwriting grant, who will be announced on 6 July.

Online information session: May 5 from 18:30 to 19:30
