Thanks to the Cinesa Talent Scholarship, each year a first-year student will be able to access the Degree in Cinematography offered by the ESCAC free of charge. Cinesa, the leading film exhibition company in Spain, is committed to young talent in order to give continuity to quality national film production.

The scholarship was presented at the Saló de l’Ensenyament, in an event attended by Héctor Premuda, marketing director of Cinesa; Sergi Casamitjana, director of the school; and the scholarship ambassador Javier Ruiz Caldera, graduate and film director (Promoción fantasma, Tres bodas de más, Anacleto: Agente secreto).

«As an ESCAC alumnus, it is an honour to be part of this initiative and to be part of this synergy between Cinesa and ESCAC to help restless young people in their training», said the director. «ESCAC was the beginning of everything I am today and that is why I encourage all those young people who are passionate about cinema to fight for their dream and participate in this initiative that can open many doors for them. I wish there had been initiatives like this when I started studying».

Thanks to the Cinesa Talent Scholarship, each year, a first year student will be able to access the Degree in Cinematography without any registration fee, with the possibility of extension for the following two years and thus covering the total cost of the Degree offered by the ESCAC. The Cinesa Talent Scholarship is aimed at students resident in Spain (minimum one year), who will be evaluated by a panel of judges made up of the exhibitor, the ESCAC and the film director and ambassador of the Cinesa Talent Scholarship, Javier Ruiz Caldera.

«ESCAC is a unique and singular project. For us it is essential to offer a scholarship programme that facilitates access for young students and this programme would be impossible without the contribution of committed companies such as Cinesa», explained Sergi Casamitjana, director of ESCAC.

This initiative, which is committed to young talent by supporting those with fewer resources in order to offer them the same opportunities, is part of the social responsibility programme that Cinesa is developing through its CSR Master Plan.

«As a leading company in the sector and committed to the film industry, we believe that we must take an active role in the training of young talent in order to contribute to quality national production”, explained Héctor Premuda, marketing manager at Cinesa.
