The latest edition of Docs Barcelona, the International Documentary Film Festival of the city, made up of competitive international sections, non-competitive sections and master classes, has been a celebration of ESCAC talent.
This year, ESCAC and DocsBarcelona have signed a collaboration agreement, which has made the synergies between the Festival and the ESCAC Master in Documentary even stronger than in previous editions. The agreement will continue to be active during the coming year and will allow our students to be present at the festival also in its next editions. In addition, all classes stop, to facilitate maximum assistance to both projections and Industry events.
As a result of this collaboration, we have also had the presence with John Wilson in ESCAC, creator and director of How To with John Wilson, the successful HBO comedy and docuserie. Our students were able to talk to him and learn the secrets behind his work in a talk that was moderated by Félix Colomer, director of the Master in Documentary at ESCAC.
Public Pitch
The project ‘Roots’, by the student Pablo García Vizcarra, was selected for the prestigious Public Pitch section, where only 10 projects worldwide are chosen to participate in a series of Pitch and Speed Meetings of great value with the industry.
Docs Barcelona Campus
In addition, ‘La Piel que Resiste’, by Liseth González, was selected for the Docs Barcelona 2024 Campus, where 10 projects in the development phase will receive face-to-face and online support and advice for a year with the aim of guiding them in their growth, bringing them closer to the industry and finally becoming quality films. During the festival, the first of the sessions was held.
Congratulations everyone!
