The Sociedad General de Autores y Editores (SGAE) in Catalonia and the Balearic Islands is promoting a scholarship fund for students in the 2017-18 academic year at the Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya (ESCAC) that reinforces the “commitment” of both entities to «the promotion of audiovisual talent».
SGAE’s director, Ramon Muntaner, and ESCAC’s director, Sergi Casamitjana, have signed an agreement that establishes the collaboration of the SGAE Foundation not only for the «development of programmes related to the training, promotion and dissemination of audiovisuals», but also for the improvement of students’ knowledge in everything related to «authorship, copyright and intellectual property», as explained in a statement.
The SGAE Foundation Grants will be distributed this year among three third-year undergraduate students in screenwriting, documentary directing and directing, and one fourth-year undergraduate student in screenwriting.
