This edition [ED+C] 2022 organised by La Coordinadora del Cortometraje Español will take place online from the website www.eldiamascorto.com and through the Vimeo platform. The duration of the event will be one day (24h) and only during Wednesday 21st December 2022.
The aim of this edition is to disseminate the short film and, in addition, to make visible the work of entities and organisations that support it, raising awareness of the importance of obtaining an economic benefit from the creation of these works. The cost of producing a short film is never €0, it can be made with or without public/private support, but it involves the work of many people to make it possible. To promote this format, [ED+C] 2022 asks viewers to make a minimum contribution of €1, which can be paid on the website (www.eldiamascorto.com) and through the pay-pal platform. The total proceeds will go to all the filmmakers who have participated by providing the reproduction of their works during the event.
A total of 12 programmes have been created with short films that have already finished their commercial run. To configure the different programmes, support has been provided to the Autonomous Communities that manage catalogues (Madrid en corto, Canarias en corto, Xunta de Galicia) or have an Academy to make visible and promote the films made in their territory (Academia Catalana, Academia Aragonesa, Academia Valenciana), the main schools in our country ECAM (Madrid) and ESCAC (Barcelona), from Murcia the CineMur association and winners of the Versión Española programme, the thematic festival Maniatic Festival and the distributors Yaq and Marvin & Wayne. A whole host of agents and entities that support short films.
In the list of works, some with numerous awards at national and international festivals and the annual awards of our cinema, there are debut filmmakers and also others with a long career in the world of short films. Even directors who are returning to this format for their creative freedom and who, in this [ED+C] 2022, share the catalogue with those who have just released their first feature film. Among them are Irene Mornay, Carla Simón, Carlota Pereda, Javier Marco, Alberto Velázquez, David Valero, Óscar Bernàcer, Jorge Aparicio García, Laura Ferrés and María Trenor.
In addition, the programme includes two short films nominated for the Goya Award in the next 2023 edition, the documentary short La Gàbia by Adán Aliaga and the animated short La primavera siempre vuelve by Alicia Núñez.
