Learn collaboratively and direct your own music video and short film
This intensive course in Film Directing and Audiovisual Narrative offers a hands-on introduction to the core principles of fiction storytelling for the screen. It is designed to provide students with a solid technical foundation to develop complete audiovisual projects in short format.
Throughout the program, students from the Cinematography and Directing courses will collaborate on two key projects:

This course is aimed at university students aged 18 and over, from any academic background, who are interested in exploring and expanding their practical skills in film directing.
The program is divided into three main blocks:
Practical sessions focused on the fundamentals of fiction storytelling, following the classical three-act narrative structure.
Students will complete fully developed narrative exercises, including shooting and post-production, both individually and in small groups. These exercises will cover all stages of the filmmaking process – from script development to filming and editing.
Hands-on classes introducing the narrative role of different audiovisual disciplines and how they support the director’s vision:
Students will collaboratively produce two complete short-format audiovisual projects.
These projects are based on previously developed concepts and are designed to apply the narrative techniques learned throughout the course.

No audiovisual equipment is required to take part in the course. All necessary materials will be provided by Cinebase – ESCAC. For safety reasons, participants must wear closed-toe shoes to move around the different spaces used during the Summer School. Comfortable clothing is also recommended.
