07.03.22 - Escac talent,

Yesterday was the gala of the Spirit Awards 2022, the US independent film awards created in 1984. The winners are chosen by a vote of the members of the Film Independent organisation and the nominees and winners of previous editions.

One of the night’s winners was Passing , the debut feature by actress Rebecca Hall (Iron Man 3, A Rainy Day in New York), which won Best Supporting Actress for Ruth Negga and Best Cinematography for graduate Edu Grau (Buried, A Single Man, Sufragists, Quién te cantará, The Way Back).

The black-and-white cinematography is one of the most acclaimed elements of the film, a racial drama set in 1920s New York.

Synopsis: America, 1920s. Clare is a mulatto woman married to a white racist who pretends to be white, even to her husband, in order to benefit from the social and economic status denied to blacks at the time.
