2 shorts by our graduates, awarded in Malaga

On Saturday the 25th edition of the Malaga Film Festival came to an end and we are very happy with the winners since two shorts by our graduates have won a total of 4 awards.

LA PERRERA (THE DOGHOUSE), an End of Degree short film directed by Emilio López Azuaga and produced by Escac Films, which competed in the Official Short Film Section, has won the SPECIAL MENTION OF THE JURY for the actors Emilio Pacheco and Jaime Crespo.

Ale, an 18-year-old boy with no ambition for the future, spends his days lost between alcohol, crime and drugs. Due to his turbulent relationship with his mother, he practically lives alone. The only positive reinforcement in his life is his Bull Terrier, Sasha. One night, Ale is about to go out for another day of escapism, leaving his dog alone at home.

HARTA (FED UP), a short film directed by Julia de Paz, has won the BIZNAGA DE PLATA AUDIENCE AWARD, BEST FEMALE INTERPRETATION for Anna Caponnetto and BEST MALE INTERPRETATION for Julián Villagrán.

The short is written with Nuria Dunjó and edited by Oriol Milan, all graduates, and has practically
the same team as the one in AMA (LANDLADY), a film with which they were at the Festival last
year, winning the Silver Biznaga for best actress for Tamara Casellas.

Carmela, a 12-year-old girl, is forced to meet her father at a family reunion center on her birthday,
due to the sentence of gender-based violence that he has against her mother.
