ANIMAL SALVATGE, a Final Degree short film directed by Maria Besora and produced by the school through Escac Films, has been nominated for Best Short Film, sharing the nomination with two short films also directed by former students of the school: FARRUCAS, by graduate Ian de la Rosa (with a team also full of graduates) and El EXTRAÑO by Master in Art Direction alumni Oriol Guanyabens.
Graduate Oriol Tarragó has a double nomination for Best Sound, for LAS LEYES DE LA FRONTERA Y TRES, where he shares the nomination with graduate Marc Bech.
Nominated for Best Special Effects are graduates and teachers Lluís Castells and Lluís Rivera for BAJOCERO and graduate Alex Villagrassa for MEDITERRANEO. The BAJOCERO effects were made entirely at the school in the VFX LAB.
Graduate Ana Pfaff is nominated for Best Editing for LIBERTAD and Ariadna Ribas for SEIS DÍAS CORRIENTES.
Graduate Gris Jordana is nominated for Best Cinematography for LIBERTAD.
For Best Art Direction, Master of Arts alumna Marta Bazaco is nominated for LIBERTAD and Calassanç Centre alumna Laia Colet for EL AMOR EN SU LUGAR.
EL NIÑO DE FUEGO, directed by Ignacio Acconcia and produced by Salvador Sunyer, both graduates, is nominated for Best Documentary Film.
The gala will be held on Sunday 6 March in Barcelona.
