¡The good news has arrived! The latest film by Juan Antonio Bayona, ‘The Snow Society’, has been nominated for Best International Film at the Oscar Awards, to be held on March 10. The film has also obtained the nomination in the category of Best Makeup and Hairstyling.
Juan Antonio Bayona, a graduate of ESCAC’s first graduating class, has become the Spanish director with the greatest international projection and one of the youngest to achieve success outside his country. The Oscar nomination confirms his talent and celebrates a career that began in the classrooms and on the sets of the school, just as it celebrates the 30th anniversary of its founding.
The film, which recreates the tragedy of the Andes based on the book by Pablo Vierci, was released to great acclaim in theaters in December and on January 4 arrived on Netflix, where it has reached number 1 in more than ninety countries.
