Mi querida cofradía, the ópera prima by Marta Díaz de Lope Díaz, has received three nominations at the ASECAN Andalusian Film Awards organised by the Andalusian Film Writers’ Association. The gala will take place on 26 January in Seville.

Mi querida cofradía is an amusing comedy of manners starring women, set against the backdrop of Easter Week in Malaga. The film stars Gloria Muñoz (Las furias, La vida inesperada), Pepa Aniorte (Cuerpo de élite, Palmeras en la nieve), Juan Gea (El ministerio del tiempo, Perdóname señor, Velvet), Joaquín Núñez (Ahora o nunca, Grupo 7) and Manuel Morón (7 años, Celda 211) and has been recognised with the Audience Award at the Malaga Festival and the BCN Film Fest.
The film, which emerged from the previous edition of ESCAC’s Opera Prima programme, has a technical team made up mainly of ESCAC graduates.
Mi querida cofradía is produced by Escac Films in co-production with La Zanfoña Producciones and Sacromonte Films, with the support of ICAA and Junta de Andalucía, and the participation of RTVE, Canal Sur and Movistar +. The film is distributed in Spain by Acontracorriente Films and has Film Factory as its international sales agent.
Synopsis:
Carmen, Catholic, apostolic and from Malaga, is going to become the president of her brotherhood. But she gets a big disappointment when the group chooses Ignacio, her greatest rival. Far from accepting it, she gets into a mess that seems to have no end. Pills, French toast, his daughter, granddaughter and neighbour. She has half the town at home, the other half in the street and everyone needs her. But she just wants things to change and she’s going to make sure they do.
