Rafa Boladeras presents his first novel “Watson & Co, detectives at home: the case of the Mafia of Bread with Tomato“, published by Editorial Samarcanda, next Friday 11 May at 19h at the Librería la Carbonera (Carrer Blai 40, Barcelona).

A screenwriting graduate, Rafa Boladeras stresses that he adapted the basic knowledge of screenwriting to write his first novel: «the three-act structure and some of the tricks for organising oneself when writing; the rundown and the post it’s on the wall to visualise the scenes…». But above all, he has taken his Illuminati from school: «classmates who acted as advisors, reading versions of the novel and contributing ideas and changes to improve it, version by version».

Synopsis

A useless detective who spends most of his time with his flatmate drinking beers and talking about women, finds himself with a real case: finding the new boyfriend of his ex (the woman in his life) who seems to have been kidnapped. Will he manage to solve the case? Will he be able to get her back in the process? Will the Barcelona mafias allow him to?

A detective story with love, humour, sex and shawarmas set in modern-day Barcelona. A noir novel, with grey twists and even some unsuspected rainbows.
