ESCAC graduate J.A. Bayona has been chosen to direct the first two episodes of the LORD OF THE RINGS series produced by AMAZON, in what is going to be the most expensive series in the history of television.

According to the Catalan filmmaker: “J.R.R. Tolkien created one of the most extraordinary and inspiring stories of all time and, as a huge fan of the writer, it is an honour and a pleasure to join this incredible team. I can’t wait to take audiences around the world to Middle-earth and have them discover the wonders of the Second Age, with a story never seen before”.

J.A. Bayona will also be executive producer of the series with his partner Belén Atienza. We wish them the best of luck and hope that they will be joined by the usual members of their team.
